Charging Ports

Buying guide How to pick the right charging port

Lightning vs USB-C charging port: iPhones up to iPhone 14 use Lightning (proprietary 8-pin connector). iPhone 15 and newer use USB-C. Replacement parts are NOT cross-compatible — buy the connector type that matches your model. Check Settings → General → About → Model Number against the part description before ordering.

Charging port + flex assembly vs port-only: Most listings include the entire flex cable (port soldered to a flex strip). This is the easier install (one connector to replace). "Port only" listings require micro-soldering — a service we offer in-shop for $80–$140 if your existing flex tested good but only the port itself is damaged.

"Lint compaction" diagnosis: 60% of "broken" charging ports we see are just lint-packed contacts. Try a wooden toothpick first to scrape out compressed lint — about 1 in 3 phones boot up to charging again. If not, then the port likely needs replacement.

Before replacing, rule out a bad cable and a lint-clogged port. If a known-good cable and a cleaned port don't help, the port itself is the cause. Some ports are a simple flex-cable swap; others are soldered to the board and are best left to a technician. Match the exact model and carrier variant on the listing. Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my charging port needs replacing?
Common signs: the phone won't charge, charges only when you hold the cable at an angle, charges slowly, or no longer recognizes accessories. If a known-good cable and a cleaned port don't fix it, the port is usually the cause.
Are your charging ports OEM?
We stock Genuine OEM, OEM-pull, and quality Aftermarket grades. The grade is listed on each product so you can pick the right balance of price and authenticity.
Can I replace a charging port myself?
Many flex-cable ports are DIY-friendly with the right tools. Some are soldered to the logic board and need a technician. We sell the parts and tools, and our New Haven shop can install it for you.
Do charging ports come with a warranty?
Yes — every part includes our 90-day warranty and ships same-day from our Manassas, VA warehouse.
